The composition of this meditation shawl includes 35% angora wool. This wool gives an additional softness to the shawl and shine to all the tones. Its border is simple and pleasant.

The border of this shawl is the subtlest of all our ethnic shawls as the tones woven in it are gentle and without great accents. Each of our shawls can, of course, be used as a yoga blanket for relaxation or during periods of shavasana.

As mentioned in the description of other ethnic shawls, this shawl is a living testimony of the Himalayan culture. Traditionally, we recognized where a person came from by the motif we found on his shawl or hat. Each motif represented a region of the Himalayas. The motif was also the vibratory depiction of the god or goddess who watched over this region. Nowadays, the distinction of regions by patterns is not so alive and different regions produce a variety of patterns.

When we walk in this area we very often see, ladies, sometimes men, sitting on the covered balcony of their houses weaving these magnificent shawls. They continue the ancestral tradition of this valley and sell them to the manufacturers who then share them with the world.

Care and Maintenance

If the process described below does not suit you, you can certainly send the shawl for DRY CLEANING.

HOW TO WASH YOUR SHAWL SAFELY:

Dissolve a little quantity of mild detergent - like gentle shampoo or woolen soap - with cold or lukewarm water (at 30 °C /86 °F maximum)

Submerge the shawl in the water and move it gently for a few minutes. Do not use fabric softener and rinse the shawl very well by running cool water through it to remove the soap.

You can then take out extra water by applying gentle pressure.

NEVER RING, NEVER TWIST.

Remove the excess water by rolling the shawl in a clean towel.

Preferably lay it flat. If not possible, fold it once or twice to prevent the fibres to be stretched too much and hang it on the clothes line in avoiding direct sun or any proximity to heat sources.

Once dry, if available, the shawl can be steamed which will fluff the fibres. Otherwise, it can be ironed with a warm iron.
