Woven with raw yak wool blended with soft merino, the Girish Gulab shawl offers an unmatched level of warmth and character. This version features an exceptionally rare ethnic border in vivid, ancestral colors — a vibrant tribute to Himalayan artistry. The natural striations of the yak wool combine with a deep herringbone weave for a bold, earthy presence.
This thick meditation shawl is ideal for use in very cold environments, outdoors, or as a warming wrap during stillness. Like all authentic yak wool creations, this shawl needs to be worn over clothing as the raw fiber can be coarse.

Yak wool is an ultra-insulating fiber, gathered in extreme Himalayan altitudes where temperatures drop to -40°C. Ours comes from the Changthang plateau in Ladakh — also known for the world’s finest pashmina.
Due to the rarity of natural yak fiber and the intricate craftsmanship of the ethnic border, this piece holds both spiritual and cultural value. A rare find outside of the Himalayas.

Orders ready to be dispatched on Friday and Saturday will be shipped on Tuesday morning, or exceptionally on Monday morning.
Orders ready to be shipped on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will leave the following morning. - DATE OF DELIVERY:
Your parcel will be delivered between 7 to 9 days, very exceptionally, within 10 days.
Delivery to Australia takes a few additional days.
If the process described below does not suit you, dry cleaning will be perfect to take care of your shawl.
HOW TO WASH YOUR SHAWL SAFELY:
Dissolve a little quantity of mild detergent - like gentle shampoo or woolen soap - with cold or lukewarm water (at 30 °C /86 °F maximum)
Submerge the shawl in the water and move it gently for a few minutes. Do not use fabric softener and rinse the shawl very well by running cool water through it to remove the soap.
You can then take out extra water by applying gentle pressure. NEVER RING, NEVER TWIST.
Remove the excess water by rolling the shawl in a clean towel.
Preferably lay it flat. If not possible, fold it once or twice to prevent the fibres to be stretched too much and hang it on the clothes line in avoiding direct sun or any proximity to heat sources.
Once dry, if available, the shawl can be steamed which will fluff the fibres. Otherwise, it can be ironed with a warm iron.

- Items discounted by more than 15% are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Returned items must be unused, unwashed, unstained, undamaged, and in their original condition with all labels and tags attached.
- Once received and inspected, eligible returns will be issued as an exchange or store credit.
- Store credit is valid for one year from the date of issue.
- Return shipping costs are non-refundable unless you received the wrong item or the item has a genuine production or quality defect.
- Missing or damaged items must be reported within three days of delivery. Photographs of the item and parcel will be required.
- Orders may be cancelled for a full refund or store credit before shipment.
- Orders that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled.
